Add Terms and Conditions to Client Portal

Modified on Tue, 18 Oct 2022 at 04:12 PM

When your clients log in to the Portal (and if new clients register for the Portal via a Registration link on your website), you can require them to "agree" to your Terms and Conditions. The date that the client "agrees" to your terms is recorded in their client record and Client LOGS.

Each time you change your terms and conditions, clients are once again required to "agree" to your new terms the next time they sign in to the portal. Each agreement is recorded in Client LOGS.

Tip: You may wish to upload a copy of your Terms and Conditions into the portal so your client can view and optionally download. See Upload forms to Contracts & Forms.

Note: If your client does not use the Client Portal, they will not see or sign the Terms and Conditions entered here.

How Can I Ensure Clients have Signed the Terms and Conditions?

Navigation: Admin > Settings > Client Portal > Terms and Conditions

  • Paste your content into "Terms and Conditions." Note that Merge codes do not work here.
  • Click "Update" to activate the terms and conditions in the Portal for all existing clients as well as new ones.

Important: Proofread CAREFULLY EVERY TIME you change your terms and conditions, even to add a space, as ALL clients will be required to "agree" again the next time they log into the Client Portal. You don't want to change these very often.

The date that the client "agreed" to your Terms and Conditions is logged in the client record. Every time you update your T&Cs and the client agrees again, this date is updated.

See the date your client signed their terms and conditions in Pet Sitter Plus

  • Existing clients are required to agree to the terms and conditions the next time they log into the Client Portal.
  • If your clients follow the "New Client Registration Process" they will be required to agree to these terms and conditions as part of the online new client registration process.

Info: Pet Software Ltd does not warrant that the functionality set out on this page would provide a legally binding proof of signature. We strongly recommend that you separately obtain legally binding, signed terms and conditions documentation from your clients by other means.
