How is my data stored in Quickbooks?

Modified on Mon, 19 Feb 2024 at 07:00 PM

When the first synchronization process is initiated either by "Auto Sync" or "Sync Now", Pet Sitter Plus will create a number of specific additional accounts in the QuickBooks and these are stored in the "Chart of Accounts."

The integration software relies on these accounts exclusively for the processing and synchronization of financial information.

The Accounts created are:

Account Name
Account Type

PSP Bank

PSP Income

PSP Bad Debts

PSP Tips

PSP Tax Agency Payable

Bank Account
Income Account
Expense Account
Other Current Liabilities
Other Current Liabilities

Important: DO NOT DELETE (or make inactive) PSP accounts that appear in your QuickBooks Online chart of accounts.

Pet Sitter Plus requires these accounts to be available in order to process transactions into QuickBooks so they must not be deleted or made inactive by the QuickBooks administrator.

Can I link Pet Sitter Plus to my existing accounts in QuickBooks Chart of Accounts?

No. If you have been using QuickBooks for some time to process your company’s accounts, you will no doubt have pre-existing accounts in your chart of accounts for the storage of things like tax due, tips, banking data and income etc.  Pet Sitter Plus cannot be configured to post data into your pre-existing accounts in your chart of accounts that you might previously have been using. The integration specifically requires the PSP Accounts (listed above) to function.
