What do the Staff Settings do?

Navigation: Admin > Staff > Settings


Use Staff Type to group Staff by Pay rate

Staff type is used to group staff members that earn the same pay for services completed. For example, you have new staff i.e. "Pay Level 1" that earn entry level rate, "Pay Level 2" that earns a higher rate, and "Pay Level 3" which are your most experienced and earn the highest rate.

To set the staff type for your staff:
  • Navigate to: Admin > select the Staff Record > Settings.
  • Select the staff type from the list.
  • Click Update.

Use Area to group Staff to help with scheduling by location

If you associate an Area with a staff record, then you are able to obtain a list of staff by "Area" and view your staff schedule by "Area." This is helpful when you want to view services and sitters in a particular location.

To set the area for your staff:
  • Navigate to: Admin > select the Staff Record > Settings.
  • Select the staff area from the list.
  • Click Update.

Ensure a Staff member is included in the Staff Planner

For a Staff to show on the Planner, change the Staff's "Capacity", to a number greater than 0.

Important: The Capacity setting controls whether or not a staff member will appear in the Planner so is essential if you wish to use this function.

To set the capacity for your staff:
  • Navigate to: Admin > select the Staff Record > Settings.
  • Set "Capacity" to 0 if the staff member should NOT appear in the planner.
  • Set "Capacity" to 1 if the staff member provides boarding and can board a maximum of 1 dog. 
  • Set "Capacity" to 2 or more if the staff member has "Capacity" to board more than one dog. 
  • Set "Capacity" to 1 if the staff member provides overnight services. Capacity not be more than 1 for overnights as staff can only provide an overnight service for one house at a time.
  • Click Update.

Ensure a Staff member is included in the Service Group Planner

For a Staff to show on the Planner, change the Staff's "Capacity", to a number greater than 0.

  • Navigate to: Admin > Settings > Planner Settings > Company Settings.
  • Click "Configure Staff" next to the Service Item Group you wish to track.
  • Toggle ON "Track" next to the Staff Names you wish to appear in the Planner and track for the Service Item Group.
  • Click "Update."
  • Set "Max Capacity" to 1 if the staff member provides boarding and can board a maximum of 1 dog. 
  • Set "Max Capacity" to 2 or more if the staff member has "Capacity" to board more than one dog. 
  • Set "Max Capacity" to 1 if the staff member provides overnight services. Capacity not be more than 1 for overnights as staff can only provide an overnight service for one house at a time.
  • Click Update.

Override the company setting for staff travel time

You can modify this setting for individual staff which will override the company setting. For more information about recording travel time for staff read About Travel Time and Travel Allowance.

To set the individual travel time allowance:
  • Navigate to: Admin > select the Staff Record > Settings.
  • Toggle the option ON for individual time allowance.
  • Enter the time allowance in minutes.
  • Click Update.
