How Do I Add Pet Sitter Plus to My iPhone?

What do I need before I start?

• Your Pet Sitter Plus login link. Staff will find it in the welcome email from their business (see Email template: Welcome New Staff). Business owners and admins can use the link they normally log in with. It's the same link on every device. If you are brand new to Pet Sitter Plus, you will find the link to your software on the Login and Welcome email sent to you by your Software Coach.
• A browser. Safari or Chrome works best. Firefox and Edge can also add Home Screen shortcuts.
• An up-to-date iPhone. Chrome, Firefox and Edge will need an up to date IOS version to add a shortcut. To check, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Tip: Add the shortcut while you're on the Pet Sitter Plus login page, not a page inside Pet Sitter Plus. That way the icon always opens in the right place.

How do I add Pet Sitter Plus to my Home Screen in Safari?

1. Open Safari and go to your Pet Sitter Plus login link. You can tap the link in your login email or paste it into the address bar
2. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up). If you can't see it, tap ••• (More) next to the address bar first, then tap Share

3. Scroll down the menu (or tap View More) and tap Add to Home Screen

4. Check the name. It shows your business name, and you can shorten it so it fits neatly under the icon
5. Leave Open as Web App switched on (it's on by default). Pet Sitter Plus will then open full screen, without the Safari address bar
6. Tap Add

The Pet Sitter Plus icon now appears on your Home Screen. Tap it to go straight to your login page

Where's the Share button in Safari?

It depends on how your Safari tabs are set up (Settings > Apps > Safari > Tabs):

How do I add Pet Sitter Plus to my Home Screen in Chrome?

1. Open Chrome and go to your Pet Sitter Plus login link
2. Tap the Share button at the right of the address bar. If you can't see it, tap ••• (More) at the bottom right, then tap Share

3. Scroll down the menu and tap Add to Home Screen

4. Check or shorten the name, then tap Add

Note: A shortcut added from Chrome opens Pet Sitter Plus in Chrome. A shortcut added from Safari opens on its own, full screen.

What if I can't see "Add to Home Screen"?

First, scroll to the bottom of the Share menu or tap View More. If you'd like Add to Home Screen right at the top of the menu, add it to your Favorites:

1. Scroll to the bottom of the Share menu and tap Edit Actions.

2. Tap the green + next to Add to Home Screen.
3. Tap the blue tick (✓) to save.

Add to Home Screen now shows in the Favorites row at the top of your Share menu.

Still can't see it?

• Update your iPhone. Open Settings > General, then tap Software Update. Chrome, Firefox and Edge update through the App Store.

• Try Safari. Every iPhone has it, and it always offers Add to Home Screen.
• Save a bookmark instead. 
• Tap Add to Bookmarks or Add to Favorites in the Share menu, so your login link is always to hand.

How do I stay logged in from my Home Screen shortcut?

1. On the login screen, tick Keep me logged in.
2. Tap Login.

Note: Only use Keep me logged in if your iPhone is locked with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID. Client details such as addresses and alarm codes can be seen in Pet Sitter Plus, so set your screen to lock quickly (Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock).

How do I remove the shortcut?

1. Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen until the icons start to jiggle.
2. Tap the – on the Pet Sitter Plus icon.
3. Tap Delete.

Note: Your iPhone warns that deleting the shortcut "will also delete its data". This only means the shortcut's saved login, so you'll need to log in again if you add it back. Nothing in Pet Sitter Plus is changed.
