Set Service Item Pet Types

Once you have set up your Service Items, you can restrict these to the Pet Type that the service is relevant for.


Example:

30 Minute Dog Walk – Can be configured to apply only to Pet Type of "Dog".

30 Minute Cat Visit – Can be configured to apply only to Pet Type "Cat".


This will then ensure when a Client is Requesting Services from within their Client Portal, they will only be able to view Services that apply to the Pet Types they have registered in their portal. Pet Types are also used in conjunction with Vaccination Flags when a client sends in a Service Requests.


Note: To enable Clients to only view Services within their Client Portal that directly relate to their pet type, you must first toggle ON "Only show services for pet types registered in client account".


Case Use - Client Service Requests Vaccination Flags

When a client sends in a Service Request from the Client Portal, the vaccination status of their pet is shown under Vaccination Flags. 


When Pet Types are set for each service item, the vaccination flag function checks the service item's "Restrict to Pet Type" entry and cross references this with the "Pet Type" for the clients registered Pet.

 

In doing so, the vaccination status is checked for only the relevant Pet Types making the Vaccination Flag more accurate.


There are a number of options when indicating a Pet Type on a Service item, the options for these are explained below:


How do I set my Service Items to be Pet Type Specific?

Navigation: Admin > Services > Service Items


Option 1 - If the Service Item relates to a single Pet Service, i.e. Dog Walk.

  • Select the Service Item.
  • In "Restrict to Pet Types" enter the Pet Type i.e., Dog.
  • Click "Update."

How do I set my Service Items for Multiple Pet Types?

Navigation: Admin > Services > Service Items


Option 2: If the Service Item relates to a multiple Pet Service, i.e. Home Visit.

  • Select the Service Item.
  • In "Restrict to Pet Types" enter the Pet Types the service relates to and separate with a comma i.e., Dog, Cat, Fish.
  • Click "Update."

Option 3: If the Service Item relates to ALL Pet Types i.e. House Sitting


  • Select the Service Item.
  • Leave "Restrict to Pet Types" blank.
  • Click "Update."
